Just finished reading a good article published in the NY-times today about the assets of Liberia´s former president Charles Taylor. It sketches how difficult it is to get a grip on Taylor´s financial transactions throughout the war and to find out what happened to his assets after his indictment in 2003.
The most interesting thing is that this articles shows how the problem of illegal trade in commodities is a truly global problem, with links between state-officials, arms-traders, well known banks and even cellphone companies.
There is a video too through this link.
